Word Per Diem

Take a moment to visit my other blog, Word Per Diem, which brings you a new word every day – a word you have probably never heard of before.

For right now it’s just a single word every day, but I plan to add different categories such as chemical of the day, medical term of the day, etc. in the future (near or far, it will be in the future).  Check it out!

Even If Your Voice Comes Back Again

Well, after taking a long, much-needed break from blogging and the internet in general, I find myself at a loss for words.  I have not had much to say in the past 10 blogless days to be honest.  I have been working hard finishing up my drawing and packing for school to start back up.

I went to IKEA.  I love IKEA.  IKEA is awesome.  My grammar is not well in this paragiraffe.  Nor is my spelling or stuff.

This paragraph will be better though, I promise you.  I found a great new blog to go along with a great forum that we are affiliated with.  Is & Was – you should check it out if you like The Sims, and join the forum while you’re at it!  You will not regret joining.

In other news, I have added a link to FreeRice.com, a website where you answer questions and food is donated to the hungry.  For every question you answer correctly, you donate 10 grains of rice.  You can answer questions ranging from multiplication to grammar to German vocabulary to chemical symbols, there are plenty of categories to keep your mind going and your answers donating.  I would highly encourage that you dedicate a few minutes of your day to help feed the hungry!  It’s fast, easy, and fun.  Perfect for wasting time.

That will be all for this update!

Can’t Stay Away

This addiction

I cannot break

The withdrawals

Too hard to take

I keep on

Keeping on

But for how long

Remains a mystery

Every year

It happens again

I tell myself

To hell with them

But never

Because I care

Have I ever

Sent them there

In the back of my mind

That’s where they’ll stay

Because I’m afraid

Of what they’ll say

Or of what they’ll do

Because of what I did

To them

I hid

Forever

Obsessed

That’s what I am

I messed

Up

A Celebration of Sorts

Happy Birthday to me.

Your Mind is the Scene of the Crime

Of the two times I have seen Inception, both were incredibly phenomenal, but I think I enjoyed it the second time around.  I was able to pick up on tiny little clues here and there that helped me understand the whole of the story a lot better than the first time.  It is a difficult movie to follow your first time around, but definitely worth watching.  There is a lot of information packed into 2 1/2 hours of film, but it isn’t to the point where it’s overwhelming.  I would recommend it to anyone.  The characters are perfect for their parts and the storyline is so original that it may just blow your mind.  It delves into the mysteries of the subconscious and the purpose of dreams and dreaming altogether.   So if you have not yet had the chance to see Inception, I recommend you remove your eyes from your computer screen and find a theater screen as soon as possible.

Your mind is the scene of the crime – you wouldn’t want to get caught skipping out on Inception.

The Resistance

The world is worth fighting for, and so are our words.  Freedom and love, friends and our rights – everything is worth it.  If failure is the only option, make with it a success.  As one door closes, another one opens right around the corner.

There’s A Lot That I Don’t Know, There’s A Lot That I’m Still Learning

Quite the title eh?  They’re from Jack’s Mannequin’s song The Resolution – you should check it out.  But aside from that, I learned quite a few things today.

You know how you hear about those people who are possessed and crazy and do bizarre things with absolutely no rhyme or reason to their actions and decisions?  Well I always thought they were a myth, kind of like North Dakota and the Loch Ness Monster, but as it turns out, they are not!  I officially know one of these people.  And unfortunately I can’t say I’m too happy about that.  But that’s another story for another day.

And also, today, surprisingly enough, I learned that if you put a swimsuit and towel in the dryer, it doesn’t automatically dry itself.  You have to turn it on first!  Amazing, no?  I thought so too.  So there’s another lesson learned today.

It’s a touchy subject.  Confusing as well.  Very complicated… and hard to lay a finger on.  It’s definitely a two-way street, obviously.  But sometimes you get that eerie feeling that it may have morphed into a one-way.  Sometimes you get the feeling that it may not even exist.  Other times you get the feeling that life without it is life without living.  Incredibly complex and undeniably baffling, love is a subject that I learned a lot about today and yesterday.

I learn new things every day.  So bring on tomorrow.

A Very Magical July 31st

Happy Birthday to Harry Potter!  And Happy Birthday to J.K. Rowling as well, whom without, we would not be celebrating either birthday.  Thank you for everything!

Hammer and Strings

I need something to believe in, a breath from the breathing

So write it down, I don’t think that I’ll close my eyes

‘Cause lately I’m not dreaming, so what’s the point in sleeping?

It’s just that at night I’ve got nowhere to hide.

The Squickerwonkers

Evangeline Lilly just happens to be my favorite actress – she was Kate Austen from the ABC Drama Lost.  And I was watching a Youtube clip of her on Craig Ferguson and just love this prequel to a children’s story she’s has supposedly written.  I like the reaction to it as well!  If you choose to view the video on YouTube, the story is brought up at about at about 1:40.

The name is Squickerwonker, perhaps unknown to you.

But that’s it, Squickerwonker, and this is what Squickerwonkers do:

Squickerwonkers like to rule, be chief, and have things.

And have the name and number that everybody rings

Squickerwonkers like the wealth and inheritance of old folks

And Squickerwonkers are quick to think and have the answers to all jokes.

But there’s a secret that lies behind the Squickerwonker’s name

It’s a horrible secret that gives Squickerwonkers shame.

Another Storm Blew Past

Tonight another storm came through.  It was pretty mild, just heavy rain, moderate winds, and a nice lightning show.  But what came afterwards was the most impressive.

The Bloodshot Sky is on Fire Once Again

Just something more to add to my collection of graphics.  Not much work involved, but it goes right along with one of my favorite songs: Bloodshot by Jack’s Mannequin.

It’s Coming…

… there’s just a complication.  I’m talking about my next home for The Sims 3.  I guess my neighborhood file got corrupted.  And conveniently enough, so did the backup file.  I don’t know what happened, but I’m rather angry.  It shouldn’t take too long to replicate though, so I should have it up later this week… hopefully.

Trying But Not Succeeding

I’ve been trying to get the word out there about Vivalastudio.  But it doesn’t seem to be working very well so far.  The most views I’ve had is 28 in one day.  But they usually hover around 10 or lower.  I’m hoping that I can think of ways to change this.  But I’m not having any luck.  If anyone has any ideas on how to improve activity to Vivalastudio, comment below!  But seeing as I haven’t gotten any comments yet, I probably won’t get any.  Hope you enjoy Vivalastudio!  And I hope I’m not driving you to boredom.
